Netball vs Cancer in New York for October 2017

The NYS Netball with host its annual Netball vs Cancer Tournament on Saturday, October 21st, 2017 at the Uncommon Charter High School in Brooklyn, New York. The event is held every year to honor everyone that has passed, is fighting and has family or friends that are fighting Breast Cancer. As female dominated sport, we find this very prominent and host this event to bring attention and educate our community of the challenges and benefits that exist in New York.

Florida Netball Classics in November 2017

The Florida Netball Classic will be moving back to the Coral Springs Gymnasium where the facilities will accommodate up to 3 full sized netball courts under one roof. This is currently the largest Netball Tournament in the USA is Florida Netball Classics for adult female and male teams held over 2 days and will take place on November 18th & 19th, 2017 at the Coral Springs Gymnasium in Coral Springs, Florida. This event is expected to have at least 20 teams. Teams from the USA, Canada, Jamaica and Trinidad have already confirmed to participate.

2017 National Championships Results

The curtain came down on the USA Netball 2017 National Championships in Fort Myers, FL on July 23rd with a lot of accomplishments for Netball in the USA.

The championship weekend opened with an exciting Game 1 of the National Male tri-series championships that saw visiting umpires Marise Stuart from New Zealand and Sylvester Chris Campbell from Jamaica in control. NY Warriors took the game 46-35 from Florida Jets. Florida Jets had their work cut out for them to avoid losing the series on Saturday, however before their Game 2, the ladies had their time.

The National Club Championships held on Saturday, July 22nd with a full day of exciting competitive games, ALL ROCKERS of FT Lauderdale won the Open National Title and took home US$2500.00 along with the Championship trophy. Second was defending champions Orlando Phoenix and third was Apage Stars of Atlanta, Georgia who were also the National Club Champions. This was followed by an exciting Game 2 match between NY Warriors and Florida Jets that ended in at 46-46 draw. The table was now set for game 3 on day 3.

The Level 1 Coaching Seminar facilitated by Marise Stuart saw prospective youth coaches from Florida and Umpire Seminar for beginner umpires facilitated by the Umpire Director Kunkell Blaine and then Game 3 of the male tri-series. New York Warriors running away with the inaugural cup defeating Florida Jets 51- 35. And with that the exciting weekend came to an end. Thanks to all the participants, organizing spectators and the Lee County Sports Development Commission.

USA Netball Flying Eagles Wins ....

The USA Netball Flying Eagles won the tri-test series against Bermuda Netball by Goal Difference and moved up the ranking chart by 2 places.

The Flying Eagles won Game 1 of the series 48 -36 on Friday evening and it all seemed liked they had the series in the bag but Bermuda Netball did their home- work Friday night and came back Saturday morning to win game 2 by 4 goals 40 – 36. The stage was now set for a final deciding match that afternoon. It was an exciting game 3 that saw several lead changes but the game ended in a 36-36 tie.
